What is Fire Sleeve?

Firesleeve is a glass fiber sleeve coated with red silicone rubber. It is widely used to protect hose, wires, pipes and cables from flame and molten metal slag.

There are mainly two types, one is industrial grade firesleeve, the other is Aerospace firesleeve.

Industrial grade firesleeve is most often used in iron and steel plant, metallurgy, power field. The thick coating of silicone rubber immediately sheds molten metal slag before any heat transfer occur.

Aerospace firesleeve is fabricated according to the SAE AS1072 standard, enabling equivalent hose manufacturers to use this sleeve in order to meet SAE AS1055 standards for completing hose assemblies.
